TikTok agreed to a $92 million settlement resolving claims it collected and shared users' personal and biometric data without consent. Eligible U.S. users can receive a pro-rata cash payment; claims are due by November 2, 2026.

TikTok agreed to a proposed class action settlement to resolve claims that its app harvested facial geometry, device identifiers and in-app activity and shared that data with third parties without adequate disclosure. TikTok denies the allegations, and the settlement is not an admission of wrongdoing.

The settlement creates a $92,000,000 fund. After fees and administration costs, the fund is split pro rata among valid claimants, with a higher share for Illinois residents whose claims arise under the Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA).

Eligibility

All persons in the United States who used the TikTok app (or its predecessor, Musical.ly) at any time between May 2019 and the deadline to opt out. Illinois residents who used the app to create videos are members of a separate subclass with a larger share of the fund.
