Raging Waters settlement: claim a share of $850,000 by Nov 24
Quick answer

The Raging Waters settlement is open for claims until Nov 24, 2026, and no receipt is required. If you bought admission tickets on ragingwaters.com between June 1, 2020 and June 22, 2026 and paid the processing fee, you can claim a pro rata share of an $850,000 fund by signing a statement under penalty of perjury. No amount is guaranteed: class counsel says about $483,200.81 is left for claimants if the judge approves every fee request. Claim on the official settlement site, which costs nothing.

What the Raging Waters settlement is about

The lawsuit says Raging Waters used "drip pricing." When people bought admission tickets on ragingwaters.com, a mandatory processing fee was added late in checkout instead of being part of the price they first saw, and the suit says it wasn't adequately disclosed. The case, Velazquez v. Festival Fun Parks, LLC (Case No. 24STCV20667), is in Los Angeles County Superior Court before Judge Elihu M. Berle. It relies on California's Unfair Competition Law and an unjust enrichment claim.

Festival Fun Parks, the company sued, denies any wrongdoing, and the court hasn't ruled on the merits. It agreed to put $850,000 into a fund, and if the judge approves the deal none of that money goes back to the company. If you've seen the same pattern elsewhere, our hidden fee settlements guide covers other cases where a fee showed up at checkout.

Who qualifies for the Raging Waters settlement

You qualify if you live in the United States, bought admission tickets from ragingwaters.com between June 1, 2020 and June 22, 2026, and paid a "Processing Fee." You don't have to live in California. If you bought tickets more than once in that window, one claim form covers all your purchases. The definition names the website, so tickets bought some other way don't fit it.

Left out of the class are people who opted out, government entities, the lawyers on the case, Festival Fun Parks and its affiliates and staff, the judge's family and staff, and anyone who already signed a release over the same fee. Because no receipt is requested, this is one of the settlements with no proof required.

How much the Raging Waters settlement pays

No fixed amount is promised. After the judge approves costs and fees, what is left is split among valid claimants in proportion to the processing fees each person paid. Pay more in fees and your slice is bigger; if fewer people claim, every slice grows. That is the pro rata math behind small settlement checks.

For scale: email notice reached 149,452 people, about 95.6% of the class, so roughly 156,000 people are in it. Class counsel said on Aug 28 that more than 5% had already filed. As an illustration only, if 5% claim and everyone paid equal fees, each would get about $62; at 20%, about $15. Your real payment depends on the fees you paid, how many people claim by the deadline and the judge's rulings.

How to file a Raging Waters settlement claim

Filing directly with the administrator, Angeion, is free. The online form starts with a login using the Notice ID and Confirmation Code from your email or postcard. If you never got a notice, you still have two routes: contact the administrator, or mail the paper claim form, which lists the Notice ID only as "if you received a Notice." For what that ID is, see claim ID vs. notice ID.

  1. Search your inbox and spam for an email from the Raging Waters Settlement Administrator with your Notice ID and Confirmation Code, or find the postcard.
  2. Go to ragingwaterssettlement.com and open Submit Claim, then enter the ID and code. No notice? Download the paper form from the same site, or contact the administrator at (888) 558-4218 or info@ragingwaterssettlement.com.

Is the Raging Waters settlement legit?

Yes. It is a court-supervised settlement in Los Angeles County Superior Court, and the notice, claim form and settlement agreement are all posted on the official site, ragingwaterssettlement.com, which Angeion Group runs. Angeion is a well-known claims administrator; if its email lands in your inbox, here is how to tell it is real.

  • Type the official address yourself rather than tapping a link in a text.
  • Never pay to file. The claim form asks for your name, address, email, phone and payment choice, not a card number or Social Security number.
  • The only code to enter is the Notice ID and Confirmation Code from your notice.

What happens after you file

At the Nov 9 hearing the judge decides whether to approve the settlement and how much to award in fees and costs. The agreement says the administrator must begin paying valid claims within 30 days after the settlement takes effect. If nobody objected, that is the day of final approval; if someone did, it waits for any appeals, which the notice says can take more than a year. Checks expire after 180 days, and leftover money goes to the National Consumer Law Center, not back to the company. See how long settlement checks take for typical timing.

Owed finds the settlements you qualify for, explains them in plain English, opens the official claim form, reminds you before deadlines and tracks your claim to payout. You submit the claim yourself on the official form. Owed Pro is $2 for the first week, then $49 per year — one flat membership. Owed never takes a percentage of any payout. Filing directly with the administrator is free. Browse other open settlements for more deadlines. This is general information, not legal advice; the court decides who qualifies and what each person gets.
