What happened?
A lawsuit says Wellstar Health System ran tracking tools on its website and patient portal that sent users' personal and health details to outside companies such as Meta and Google. Wellstar denies the claims but agreed to a $4,250,000 fund that pays cash to people whose information was shared.
The case is Doe v. Wellstar Health System, Inc., in federal court in Georgia. The plaintiffs say Wellstar used website pixels, cookies and similar tools that passed personal and health information to third parties such as Meta and Google. The tools ran on Wellstar's public website and its patient portal. Wellstar denies the allegations, and the court has not decided who is right.
The settlement covers people living in the US whose information was disclosed to a third party through those tools between February 19, 2020 and July 22, 2026. The parties estimate about 870,000 people are in the class. You don't need receipts or medical records, but you sign the claim form under penalty of perjury.
Wellstar agreed to a $4,250,000 fund, and none of it returns to the company. Each valid claimant gets an equal (pro rata) cash share after costs, service awards and class counsel's fees come out. Class counsel plans to ask for one-third of the fund. No dollar amount per person is set, and nothing is paid unless the court approves the deal.

How much is Wellstar paying and what can I get?
An equal-share (pro rata) cash payment from a $4,250,000 fund. Notice and administration costs, service awards for the class representatives, and class counsel's fees and expenses come out first, so the amount depends on how many valid claims are filed. No per-person amount has been announced, and nothing is paid unless the court approves the settlement.
The total settlement fund is $4,250,000. The final amount per person depends on how many valid claims are filed.
Am I eligible to file a claim?
People living in the United States whose information was disclosed to a third party through tracking tools on Wellstar's website or patient portal between February 19, 2020 and July 22, 2026.
