What happened?

A class action says the Venetian Las Vegas website shared visitors' information and communications with outside companies without permission, in violation of California's privacy law. Venetian denies it broke any law but agreed to a $1.6 million settlement for California residents who used its website or booked a stay through it.

The lawsuit says the Venetian Las Vegas website passed visitors' guest-record information and private communications to outside companies without permission, breaking the California Invasion of Privacy Act. Venetian denies breaking any law, and the court has not decided who is right.

There are two groups. The booking group is California residents who made a Venetian hotel reservation on the website. The browsing group is California residents who visited or used the website. Both groups cover September 18, 2024 through March 16, 2026, and you must have been in California at the time.

Venetian agreed to pay $1.6 million into two funds: $931,713.50 for the booking group and $668,286.50 for the browsing group. After fees, costs and any service award, each approved claimant gets an equal share of their group's fund. The court notice estimates about $71.39 for booking and about $3.60 for browsing, based on assumed claim rates. Payments go out by check, PayPal or Venmo.

File online at the settlement site, or mail the paper form, by November 24, 2026. The form asks for your name, contact details and a signed statement, under penalty of perjury, that you are in the group. No receipts are required, though claims can be audited. The same date is the deadline to opt out or object. The final approval hearing is December 3, 2026, and payments are due about 45 days after final approval, once any appeals are resolved.

How much is Venetian Las Vegas paying and what can I get?

Equal cash shares, estimated at about $71.39 if you booked a Venetian stay on the website, or about $3.60 if you only browsed it. The estimates assume roughly 20% of the booking group and 10% of the browsing group file claims. Final amounts depend on the number of valid claims, after fees and costs.

The total settlement fund is $1,600,000. The final amount per person depends on how many valid claims are filed.

Am I eligible to file a claim?

California residents who, while in California between September 18, 2024 and March 16, 2026, browsed the Venetian Las Vegas website (VenetianLasVegas.com) or made a Venetian hotel reservation through it.
