What happened?
A lawsuit says Festival Fun Parks didn't clearly disclose a mandatory processing fee that was added late in checkout when people bought Raging Waters admission tickets on ragingwaters.com. The company denies any wrongdoing but agreed to an $850,000 fund that pays cash to people who bought tickets there and paid the fee.
The case is Velazquez v. Festival Fun Parks, LLC, in Los Angeles County Superior Court. It says the Raging Waters ticket site tacked a required processing fee onto the last steps of checkout without saying so clearly up front. The suit calls this drip pricing and says it broke California's unfair competition law. Festival Fun Parks denies doing anything wrong, and the court has not decided who is right.
You're covered if you live in the US and paid the processing fee when you bought admission tickets on ragingwaters.com from June 1, 2020 through June 22, 2026. You don't need receipts, but you must state under penalty of perjury that you bought tickets and paid the fee. One claim covers all of your purchases.
Payments come from an $850,000 fund, and your share depends on how much of the total processing fees you paid. If the judge approves every requested deduction, about $483,200 would be shared among valid claimants. Money goes out only after the court gives final approval and any appeals end, which could take more than a year.
