What happened?

Fairchild Medical Center settled a California class action over tracking tools on its website that allegedly shared people's private information with third parties without permission. The roughly 1,000 class members can get a one-time payment expected to be $25 and one year of a privacy protection service. Fairchild denies doing anything wrong.

The lawsuit says Fairchild Medical Center used third-party tracking tools, including the Meta Pixel, on its website. It says those tools shared people's private information with other companies without authorization and that this violated certain privacy laws. Fairchild denies doing anything wrong, and the court has not decided who is right.

The settlement covers California citizens whose private information was shared this way, about 1,000 people in all. Class members were sent a notice with a Login ID and PIN, and enrollment codes for the privacy service came by postcard.

Each class member can get a one-time cash payment expected to be $25, with no proof needed, and one year of CyEx Privacy Shield Pro. That service includes dark web scanning, compromised password scanning, a VPN, a password manager and other privacy tools. You can claim either one or both. Payments are made only after the court gives final approval and any appeals are resolved.

To claim, log in on the official claim page with the Login ID and PIN from your notice and file online, or mail in a paper claim form. The deadline is November 2, 2026, and mailed forms must be postmarked by then. If you lost your Login ID and PIN, email the administrator with your full name and mailing address. The opt-out and objection deadline was September 28, 2026. The final approval hearing was scheduled for October 15, 2026, so check the website for updates.
