This class action seeks to challenge the deceptive packaging, labeling and marketing of DAVID Gold protein bars.
Every DAVID bar carries the promise “28g Protein | 150 Calories | 0g Sugar”. The complaint alleges the bars are sweetened with allulose — chemically a sugar — so the claim is false under federal labeling rules.
In July 2026 a federal appeals court held that allulose is a sugar under the governing regulation, with the FDA agreeing in a filing. DAVID has not responded, the allegations are unproven, and no settlement or claim form exists.
