Apple agreed to a $250 million settlement over iPhone 16 and iPhone 15 Pro ads for Siri Apple Intelligence features that hadn't shipped. Eligible buyers get a presumptive $25 per phone, up to $95. Claims are expected to open around September 21, 2026 and close December 21, 2026.
The lawsuit says Apple's 2024 iPhone campaign advertised a more personal Siri powered by Apple Intelligence, including features that were not available when the phones went on sale and were later delayed. Apple denies wrongdoing and says it had already shipped many Apple Intelligence features and disclosed that more would arrive over time.
Apple will pay $250 million into a non-reversionary fund. After notice and administration costs, attorneys' fees and service awards, every valid claim receives a presumptive $25 per eligible iPhone. If fewer people claim, payments rise pro rata up to $95 per device; if more claim, they shrink pro rata.
The court granted preliminary approval on July 17, 2026. Under the schedule the parties proposed on August 28, Verita Global starts emailing and mailing notices on September 21, 2026, claims and opt-outs are due December 21, 2026, and the final approval hearing is February 24, 2027 in San Jose. Payments follow final approval if there are no appeals.
The claim form asks for your name, contact details and one identifier that ties you to the phone: the serial number (Settings > General > About), the Apple Account email, or the phone number on the device. No receipt is required. You also confirm you expected a Siri Apple Intelligence feature at purchase and did not receive it.
Eligibility
Anyone in the United States who bought a new iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max or 16e, or an iPhone 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max, in the U.S. between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025 for their own use rather than resale, and who expected a Siri Apple Intelligence feature at purchase that they did not receive.
