What happened

Chrysler (FCA US) is recalling 265,512 Ram ProMaster vans. The recall covers certain 2022–2026 ProMaster 1500, 2500 and 3500 vans and certain 2024–2026 electric ProMaster 3500 vans.

Water can seep into the wiring harness for the electric power steering. If it does, the power steering assist can shut off. Without it, the steering wheel gets much harder to turn, and the chance of a crash goes up.

The final fix isn't ready. Chrysler plans to mail interim letters about the risk on November 17, 2026, then more letters once the fix is ready. Dealers will inspect the wiring harness and replace it or the power steering gear if needed, at no cost.
