What happened

Pacearth Direct is recalling about 110,550 PACEARTH U-type swing seats. The seat can break while someone is swinging. So can the metal carabiners or quick links, or the webbing straps that hang the swing. A break can cause a fall and serious injury.

Pacearth Direct has received reports of at least 30 falls. These falls led to at least nine injuries, including broken bones, head injuries and bruises.

The swing seats were sold on Amazon from May 2017 through June 2026, for $27 to $57. Pacearth Direct, based in City of Industry, California, distributed them. They were made in China.

Is yours recalled?

The recall covers PACEARTH U-type swing seats. Colors include green, blue, pink, red and turquoise, among others. The chain has a yellow plastic coating. Each swing came with yellow webbing straps and metal carabiners or quick links for hanging it from a swing set or a tree branch.

They were sold as single swings or in packs of two, on Amazon from May 2017 through June 2026. The notice does not list model numbers, so check for the PACEARTH logo on the seat.

What to do

  1. Stop using the swing seat right away.
  2. Use a permanent marker to write the word RECALLED on the seat.
  3. Take a photo of the marked seat that also shows the PACEARTH logo.
  4. Email the photo to Pacearth Direct to ask for a full refund. Email is the only contact method the notice lists.

The recall itself gets you a refund. Money for other losses usually only comes from a class action or settlement, if one follows — often when buyers paid for something that didn't work as promised. If a settlement opens over this recall, it will be listed on Owed's settlements page.
