Quick answer

Yes, the Dr. Squatch settlement is open for claims until Nov 27, 2026. If you bought any of the 19 Dr. Squatch products labeled "Men's Natural" in the U.S. between Nov 1, 2018 and Aug 29, 2026, you can claim $0.50 per product: up to five products ($2.50) with no receipt, plus up to 20 more with a retail receipt, for $12.50 per household at the stated rate. That rate can move up or down depending on how many people claim, and nothing is paid until the court gives final approval. Dr. Squatch denies wrongdoing. File on the official settlement site, which costs nothing.

What the Dr. Squatch settlement is about

The Dr. Squatch settlement ends Guzman, et al. v. Dr. Squatch, LLC, a consumer class action filed on Feb 10, 2025 in Los Angeles County Superior Court (Case No. 25STCV03523). Six plaintiffs say the company sold soaps, deodorants and other products as "natural" when they contained ingredients the plaintiffs say are synthetic. Dr. Squatch denies that, says its products were labeled properly, and agreed to settle to avoid the cost and uncertainty of continuing. The court has not found that the company did anything wrong.

Dr. Squatch agreed to a $9 million fund. Before claims are paid, the fund covers notice and administration (estimated at $475,000), class lawyers' fees of up to one-third, up to $50,000 in their costs and up to $40,000 in awards for the six plaintiffs. The judge granted preliminary approval on July 15, 2026. Owed's summary is on the Dr. Squatch settlement page.

Who qualifies for the Dr. Squatch settlement

You qualify if you bought covered Dr. Squatch products in the United States between Nov 1, 2018 and Aug 29, 2026. "Covered" means products that carry the word "natural" on the label. The settlement lists 19, each named "Men's Natural ...":

  • Cleansing and grooming: bar soap, body wash, hand soap, face wash, shampoo, conditioner, shave butter, post shave and wipes
  • Skin and fragrance: lotion, lotion to powder, lip balm, cologne, cologne oil, beard oil, and beard oil and cologne
  • Everything else: deodorant, hand sanitizer and toothpaste

Left out are people who bought to resell, Dr. Squatch's current and former employees, officers and agents and their immediate families, and anyone who opted out. Only one claim form is allowed per household, meaning everyone living at the same address.

How much you could get from the Dr. Squatch settlement

The formula is simple: $0.50 per covered product. What changes is the cap, which depends on your proof.

The $0.50 isn't locked in. If valid claims add up to more than the money left after fees and costs, every payment is cut pro rata; if they add up to less, payments are raised. Treat $12.50 as the top of the range at the stated rate, not a forecast.

How to file a Dr. Squatch settlement claim

Filing directly with the administrator is free and takes a few minutes once you know your product count. Use the official site, PersonalCareProductsSettlement.com, which links to the claim form. You can file online or by mail.

  1. Count the covered products you bought from Nov 1, 2018 through Aug 29, 2026. Your Dr. Squatch order history and old email receipts are the easiest places to check.
  2. Open the claim form from the official site. If you never received a notice, choose the option saying you don't have a Settlement Claim ID.
  3. Enter your name, mailing address, email address and phone number.
  4. Enter how many products you bought with proof of purchase and how many without. Stay within 5 without proof and 20 with proof.
  5. Add a receipt for every product you claim beyond five. Receipts must come from a retail source, in a store or online, and show when you bought the item (see what counts as proof of purchase).
  6. Certify under penalty of perjury that your information is true, pick a payment option and submit by 11:59:59 p.m. PST on Nov 27, 2026.
  7. Prefer paper? Print the mail-in form from the site and send it, postmarked by Nov 27, 2026, to Dr. Squatch Settlement Administrator, P.O. Box 1389, Baton Rouge, LA 70821.
Count honestly. The claim form is signed under penalty of perjury, the administrator can audit claims, and false information gets a claim rejected entirely.

Is the Dr. Squatch settlement legit?

Yes. It's a court-authorized settlement in Los Angeles County Superior Court with a published notice, claim form and settlement agreement, and the claim portal is linked straight from the official site. The administrator's address is a P.O. Box in Baton Rouge, and its toll-free line is 1-855-706-1956. No money is available yet, and the fund exists because Dr. Squatch agreed to it, not because anyone found it liable.

The usual rules apply. No legitimate settlement charges you to file, asks for a Social Security number or bank login to "release" a payment, or sends you to a lookalike site. If you're unsure about a message, read how to spot a class action settlement scam and type the settlement website into your browser yourself.

What happens after you file

The administrator reviews claims after the claim period ends, can audit them or ask for more information, and tells you if a claim is rejected and why. The court then decides on Mar 2, 2027 whether to approve the settlement. If it does and no appeal holds things up, payments go out by check or digital methods; the agreement lists PayPal, Zelle and e-Mastercard. Checks stay valid for 180 days, so cash yours promptly. Owed finds the settlements you may qualify for, explains each one in plain English, opens the official claim form, reminds you before deadlines and tracks your claim through to payout. You submit the claim yourself. Owed Pro is $2 for the first week, then $49 per year — one flat membership. Owed never takes a percentage of any payout.
