428 pressure washers sold on Amazon recalled over electrocution hazard

What was recalled: two Amazon-only pressure washers

These are two separate recalls that CPSC announced on the same day, Aug. 27, 2026. They involve different brands, different sellers and different model numbers, so check each one against what you own.

YERYORK pressure washers (300 units). The recall covers YERYORK-branded 2.5 GPM electric pressure washers, model YE-006. They are green with black, measure about 10.24 inches deep, 16.14 inches wide and 12.01 inches high, and come with a 500 ml foam cannon, four quick disconnect nozzles, a 32.81-foot hose and four lockable wheels. CPSC's notice says only power washers without a GFCI are included. The manufacturer is Lanzhou Xinshi Mingchen Information Technology Co., Ltd., doing business as YERYORK, of China.

Steelite pressure washers (about 128 units). The second recall covers Steelite-branded 2.5 gpm electric pressure washers, model AZ6041VC. They are red and black, measure about 30 inches high, 10 inches wide and 12 inches deep, and have a foam cannon, four quick connect nozzles and a 20-foot hose. The importer is Longer Technology (Hong Kong) Limited, doing business as Longer 3D, of China.

Neither recall covers other pressure washer brands. Other CPSC recalls announced the same day, such as the Hustler and BigDog mower LED light kit recall, are unrelated.

Why they were recalled: no GFCI and a short cord

Both notices give the same hazard: the recalled pressure washers lack an integral ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) and an adequate-length power cord. CPSC says this poses a risk of serious injury or death from shock and electrocution.

A GFCI is a safety device built into the plug or cord of many outdoor electrical products. It monitors the current flowing through the circuit and shuts the power off in a fraction of a second if electricity starts leaking to ground, for example through water or a person. An electric pressure washer is used with a wet hose, wet ground and wet hands, which is the situation a GFCI is meant to protect against.

The notices do not describe a specific failure in either washer; the problem is that they were sold without protection that safety requirements for this kind of product call for.

CPSC's pages for both recalls also link to earlier recalls of Workbless, SUGIFT and COMMOWNER pressure washers with the same hazard description, so this is a recurring problem with low-cost electric washers sold online rather than a one-off.

Where they were sold

Both washers were sold only online, on Amazon.com, according to the CPSC notices. Neither page lists a store or any other website.

• YERYORK model YE-006: sold on Amazon.com from March 2025 through June 2026 for about $120.
• Steelite model AZ6041VC: sold on Amazon.com by Longer 3D from April 2026 through June 2026 for between $45 and $92.

Because these were marketplace listings, the easiest way to confirm a purchase is your Amazon order history: search for "pressure washer" and check the brand, the seller name and the order date against the windows above. The recall notices do not say whether Amazon will email buyers directly, so do not wait for a message before checking.

Amazon-sold products feature in several other recalls from the same batch of announcements, including the MD Wipe Outz numbing tattoo wipes and the Chillife Montessori baby toy sets.

How to identify an affected pressure washer

Start with the brand printed on the machine and the model number on its label. On the YERYORK washer, the brand is printed on the front and the model number YE-006 is on a label on top of the unit near the handle. On the Steelite washer, model AZ6041VC is printed on a label on the back. Then check the plug: the YERYORK notice states that only washers without a GFCI are included, so a unit whose cord has a built-in GFCI block is not part of that recall. The Steelite notice does not make that distinction, so treat every AZ6041VC as included.

Reported incidents and injuries

Both CPSC notices list incidents and injuries as "None reported." That means neither seller nor CPSC had received a report of a shock, electrocution or other incident involving these washers when the recalls were announced on Aug. 27, 2026.

The recalls are precautionary in that sense, but the hazard language is not: CPSC describes the risk as serious injury or death from shock and electrocution. Electric pressure washers combine mains voltage with water, which is why the missing GFCI matters even for a unit that has worked without trouble so far.

If you have had a problem with either washer, CPSC asks consumers to report dangerous products and product-related injuries at SaferProducts.gov or through its hotline at 800-638-2772.

What to do if you own one

The remedy for both recalls is a full refund, and both sellers require the same proof before paying it: the washer must be unplugged and destroyed by cutting the power cord in half, and a photo of the destroyed unit emailed to the seller. Here is the wording from each notice.

YERYORK: "Consumers should stop using the recalled pressure washers immediately and contact YERYORK for a full refund. Consumers will be asked to unplug the pressure washer, destroy it by cutting the power cord in half, and send a photo of the destroyed power washer, showing the model number, to yeryorkrecalls@outlook.com. Consumers should then dispose of the destroyed recalled product."

Steelite: "Consumers should stop using the recalled pressure washers immediately and contact Longer 3D for a full refund. Consumers will be asked to destroy the power washer by cutting the unplugged power cord in half and send a photo of the destroyed pressure washer to 2991426091@qq.com. Consumers should then dispose of the destroyed recalled product."

1. Stop using the pressure washer and unplug it.
2. Confirm the brand and model number (YE-006 for YERYORK, AZ6041VC for Steelite) and note your Amazon order date.
3. With the unit unplugged, cut the power cord in half. For the YERYORK washer, make sure the photo also shows the model number.
4. Email the photo to the seller: yeryorkrecalls@outlook.com for YERYORK, or 2991426091@qq.com for Longer 3D (Steelite). YERYORK also posts recall information under "Product Recalls" at yeryork.com.
5. Dispose of the destroyed washer, and keep copies of the photo and the emails until the refund arrives.

Who issued the recalls and when

Both recalls were announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Aug. 27, 2026.

• YERYORK pressure washers: CPSC recall number 26-725. Manufacturer: Lanzhou Xinshi Mingchen Information Technology Co., Ltd., dba YERYORK, of China. Manufactured in China. Remedy: refund.
• Steelite pressure washers: CPSC recall number 26-723. Importer: Longer Technology (Hong Kong) Limited, dba Longer 3D, of China. Manufactured in China. Remedy: refund.

CPSC notes on every recall page that federal law prohibits any person from selling products subject to a Commission-ordered recall or a voluntary recall undertaken in consultation with the CPSC, which means these washers should not be offered for sale again in any condition unless the hazard is corrected.

The recall numbers are the quickest way to find the official pages later: search cpsc.gov for "26-725" or "26-723." The pages carry the product photos, the seller contacts and any later updates.

How to monitor recalls and why to keep your receipts

Recalls of marketplace products often get little coverage, so check the sources yourself. CPSC posts every recall at cpsc.gov/Recalls and offers email alerts; FDA lists food, drug and cosmetic recalls on its recalls page; vehicle recalls can be checked by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls; USDA FSIS covers meat and poultry; and FoodSafety.gov gathers food alerts in one place. Retailer notifications and the brand's own site are worth a look too.
